The football coach was born on March 22, 1972, in Jamestown, New York, to Fran Sirianni and Amy Sirianni. Mike Sirianni’s father is a coaching icon in upstate New York and a member of the Chautauqua Hall of Fame for his impressive career as the head coach of Southwestern.
The head coach grew up with his two little brothers. Mike Sirianni’s siblings are Jay Sirianni and Nick Sirianni. Like him, the younger brother Jay was the head coach at Southwestern High School for a long time and had a lot of success. Similarly, Nick Sirianni has also been involved in the NFL for over a decade. Before taking over as head coach of the Philadelphia Eagles in 2021, Mike’s brother worked with the Chiefs, Chargers, and Colts.
Mike Sirianni went to Southwestern Central School, where his father was a well-known and renowned coach. Then, he enrolled in Mount Union College in Alliance, Ohio. After that, the Mount Union graduate went to Ithaca College for his master’s in 1994. He received his master’s degree in exercise and sports management.

During Mike’s period at Mount College, he was a three-year starter with the Purple Raiders at wide receiver. Mike Sirianni was a two-time All-Ohio Athletic Conference pick as a player, and he earned a national championship in 1993. Later, while the former player pursued his master’s at Ithaca, he had his first experience as a coach. In 1996 and 1997, the football enthusiast returned to Mount Union as an assistant coach. Later, in 1998, Mike Sirianni relocated to Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, to become the offensive coordinator at Wilkes University.
Mike was then offered the role of offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at Washington & Jefferson College. He served for the Washington & Jefferson Presidents in the same role from 1999 to 2002.
However, when W&J head football coach John Banaszak stepped down following the 2002 season, Mike was hired to take his place in the 2003 season. And ever since, he has been in that position.
