Rachel Dawson is an American field hockey coach and a former professional field hockey player who is one of the most accomplished athletes in US history. Rachel Dawson was born on August 2, 1985, to her parents, David Dawson and Karen Dawson. Although originally from Camden, she was raised in Berlin, New Jersey. Then, she attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, majoring in business and graduating in 2007 with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. Two years before that, on June 5, 2005, Dawson was named to join the US National Team for being a talented defender and midfielder.
