Rachel Dawson is an American field hockey coach and a former professional field hockey player who is one of the most accomplished athletes in US history. As a three-time Olympian, she was also inducted into the 2022 US Hall Of Fame to honor her achievements and contribution to the USA Field Hockey team.

After retiring as an athlete, Dawson trains and coaches field hockey players of the national development team, mostly behind the scenes. Rachel Dawson was born on August 2, 1985, to her parents, David Dawson and Karen Dawson. Although originally from Camden, she was raised in Berlin, New Jersey. Moreover, the former player grew up with her two brothers and five sisters named David Dawson, Natalie Dawson, Andrew Dawson, Sarah Dawson, Meghan Dawson, Hannah Dawson, and Melanie Dawson. The 1985-born hockey coach went to Eastern Regional High School and graduated in 2003. Then, she attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, majoring in business and graduating in 2007 with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. Two years before that, on June 5, 2005, Dawson was named to join the US National Team for being a talented defender and midfielder.

Since then, Rachel has played at numerous World Championships. Sadly, the former player decided to retire in 2016 with 298 international caps, shortly after competing in the Rio 2016 Olympic Games.
