Born In Germany

Tim Yakteen was born Haitham Yakteen on July 29, 1965, in Germany. He spent the first 18 years of his life there. He was raised in a small Bavarian town.

Tim Yakteen’s mom is German, and his dad is a US citizen who was born in Lebanon. After getting his citizenship, Tim’s father joined the Army and was assigned to Nuremberg.

After working with two Hall of Famers, in 2004, Tim decided to go on his own. He started his own stable, Tim Yakteen Racing stables. That year he sent out his first stakes winner by sending Sabiango to the Deuling Grounds, which is now called Kentucky Downs in Kentucky, to capture the 12-furlong Kentucky Cup Turf Handicap.

In May 2022, Tim replaced Bob to qualify some of his horses for the Kentucky Derby. In the $750,000 Santa Anita Derby, Taiba and Messier finished first and second.
